Keep a Sad or Worry Journal

Creatively express your feelings (or lack thereof)

Create a unique artistic expression that reflects your most recent emotion. Engage in activities such as writing a song, doodling in a journal, painting a picture, or crafting a collage or Vision Board/Box. Explore different mediums to convey your feelings, even if you struggle to identify them. Embrace the use of dark colors like greys and blacks to add depth to your work of art. Afterward, reflect on your emotional state. Examine whether a sense of satisfaction or any other emotion arises within you. Document these experiences in a journal, exploring the nuances of your feelings and the impact of your artistic expression.

Take care of your inner child

To heal the emotional numbing that stems from childhood trauma, it’s crucial to care for your inner child. Engage in inner child work to find ways to comfort and nurture this vulnerable part of yourself. Consider creating empowering affirmations tailored to your inner child’s needs. For instance, when faced with challenging circumstances, repeat phrases like “It’s okay for me to feel,” “It’s safe for me to feel sad,” “My anger is valid,” and “Being vulnerable is being strong.” These affirmations can help your inner child access emotions and promote emotional growth.

Dedicate space and time to feeling

In our fast-paced lives, we often seek distractions from social media, television, shopping, food, social obligations, and other external sources. While these distractions can provide temporary relief, they can also hinder our ability to look inward. Unlike external distractions, introspection requires self-discipline, which is why many people avoid it.

To conquer emotional numbness, dedicating time and space for self-reflection is crucial. Journaling has been an effective method for me, sometimes leading to creative outlets such as drawing, poetry, or songwriting. Revisiting my journal, I consistently observe progress, even if it’s gradual. The key is to maintain forward momentum in my emotional journey.

To strengthen self-discipline, dedicate time to exploring your inner self, especially identifying and understanding repressed emotions and their underlying causes. This step is crucial for personal growth and self-awareness.

To conclude your journaling session, consider incorporating uplifting elements to counteract negative emotions. This could involve reading positive news from sources such as the uplifting news subreddit, spending quality time with a loved one, engaging in playful activities with a pet, or selecting entertaining content from platforms like YouTube or Netflix. This practice will help balance your emotional state and promote a sense of well-being.

Our Thoughts

Head Space

Our thoughts pack a powerful punch in shaping our life experiences.

Think back to a time when you were frustrated due to a misunderstanding, but then, as soon as you understood things differently, that frustration just vanished into thin air. That’s because our interpretation of events determines our experience, and it can change in an instant!

In the grand scheme of things, the present moment is all we’ve got. Instead of just going with the flow and letting life do its thing, we can use the power of our thoughts to create a reality that’s all sunshine and rainbows.

For instance, instead of getting hung up on traffic, we can choose to appreciate the beauty around us. Or, instead of focusing on the negative aspects of people, we can look for their admirable qualities. The way you interpret and define each moment shapes your reality, so choose wisely.

During the day, we can keep an eye on our thoughts to catch ourselves when we’re thinking negatively or focusing on things that aren’t helpful, like limiting beliefs. Instead, we can shift our attention back to the endless opportunities that the present moment offers.

Take a deep breath to help focus on being present in the moment. When we meditate regularly, we can control our minds and quiet our thoughts, allowing us to experience a sense of pure existence.

Listen! If you’re always stuck in the past or dreaming about the future, you’re missing out on the amazing NOW! moment right before your eyes. Setting goals is great, but don’t forget to focus on what you can do right now to make them happen.

Our minds are like super-powered machines that we can use to mold our own reality. It’s like we’re sculpting the universe with our visions and thoughts, turning its unshaped energy into something solid that guides what we say and do.

Every thought we have is like a pebble dropped into a pond, creating ripples that spread out and influence everything they encounter. We have the power to choose what we focus on and how we use our energy. This gives us the freedom to create the life we want, moment by moment.

Wisdom To Know When To Surrender

Wisdom To Know When To Surrender

Fighting against something often strengthens it by giving it more attention and energy.

You know that feeling when something’s bugging you, and no matter how hard you try to ignore it, avoid it, or run away from it, it just won’t leave you alone? It’s like you think you can eliminate it by pushing it away, but it always comes right back. It’s like there’s some law of nature or something that says the more you resist something, the more it persists.

Fighting against something makes it stronger. It’s like giving it more attention and energy. Plus, when you’re resisting something, you’re not open to learning more about it. To understand something, you must be willing to take it in, even if it’s not what you want to hear. Otherwise, you’ll never learn from it.

Do you know that Tibetan story about a monk who went to meditate in a cave and got swarmed by demons? Well, this monk tried everything to get rid of them—he chased them, fought them, and even hid from them. But nothing worked until he finally decided to surrender. He just let the demons do whatever they wanted and poof! They vanished.

So, we’ve got this wisdom, but what do we do with it? We’re not meant to go around getting hurt, right? This story isn’t just about physical injuries, though. It’s also about the things that go on in our heads that bug us and won’t leave us alone. Those things have a way of showing up in our lives as people, events, and problems that seem like they’re out of our control.

Our outer appearances tell a lot about our inner selves. So, to truly conquer our fears and dislikes, we need to look deep within ourselves. It might be scary at first, and you’ll probably face a lot of resistance as you start to open up to your fears. But trust me, the more you let go and surrender, the more those demons that haunt you will fade away. And guess what? You’ll become braver and stronger in the process.

Plant the Seed . . .

Cultivate The Seed

We can find peace within us like a seed we can always turn to for comfort and tranquility.

In our loud and crazy world, we often wish for some peace and quiet. We think that we need to go somewhere special, like a religious site or a quiet building, to feel at peace. But what if I told you that you don’t have to wait until you get to one of those places? You can find peace right inside yourself! It’s like a little seed that you can grow into a big, strong plant that will always be there for you, no matter where you are.

Have you noticed how we sometimes get caught up in a frenzy of anxiety and forget to just chill? It’s like our minds are on a constant roller coaster ride, never finding a moment of calm. But guess what? You can find peace, even in the midst of all your chaos. Just take a few minutes to focus on yourself, clear your head, and let go of all the worries. It’s like hitting the pause button on life and just being in the present moment. So, don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to relax. Make time for yourself, find your inner zen, and let the peace flow like a river. It’s a game-changer, trust me!

So, ideally, you’d make some time each day to just chill and think about your inner peace. You know, just vibe and feel all the calm around you. It’s not easy to let go of your worries, though, so don’t be harsh on yourself if it takes some time. Just take a deep breath and let all those worries melt away with every exhale. Tell yourself that you’ll deal with everything you need to later, but right now, you’re just taking a break and enjoying the moment.

When your mind is racing with thoughts and worries, it feels like a big mess, right? But, guess what? You have the power to clear all that up and feel serene. Just take a deep breath, and let yourself sink deeper into that relaxed state. It might take some practice, but the more you do it, the easier it’ll be to feel calm and peaceful. So, let’s give it a try, shall we? To help calm the mind Try These!
