Burt was always hungry

How hungry are you?

Do you ever put off your dreams? Do you tell yourself it’s not the right time or moment, you always saying next month, next year. If you want to stay hungry – you have got to fight to keep your dream alive. If left unfulfilled and not nourished that hungerthat desire – that passion will fade over time. Keep Your Dream Alive ~ Its your Time!

Here are 5 ways I keep in the fight of Living My Own Dream:

  1. Write down your dreams. I personally reread them to myself after writing them down so I can hear my own voice speaking the words – this way when someone speaks those same words to me the first time I will not be surprised or shocked I heard them before. I lived this moment before in my mind.
  2. Spend just 5 minutes a day on it. I commit to small actions daily – at times my actions are microscopic (a speck but its a speck that was not there previously), you’ll find yourself pushing harder to make time for your dream.
  3. You must give up something so you can spend time with your dream. Here’s a powerful formula to use when you NEED to make time for your dream – “I wish I could, but I really have to __________________________.” There is not a plethora of items that would take presence over your dream – this is a tool that has helped me to be disciplined with my time.
  4. Have your friends and family support you and keep you focused. At times its challenging to keep yourself motivated. I have support with my online group of like-minded dreamers, networking groups that offer feedback and suggestions. My husband and I communicate daily about my progress, I appreciate his feedback and great advice. Their support helps keep me motivated toward living my dream.
  5. Visualize yourself living it. I personally have used visualization since 1995. I visualize each of my steps toward my dream. I imagine how moments are going to feel, my thoughts at the moment, my personality at the moment I even visualize what I am wearing. This process slowly changes me, over the years I have become more assertive. When a situation comes up – in my mind I have already lived it, I just now need to enjoy the moment with confidence not fear. Stay hungry!

A Tribute to the Queen of Soul

They didn’t play this song often – it was on the B side of Sweet Sweet Baby. The song was written by Aretha’s younger sister Carolyn Franklin, she was with the group ‘Sweet Inspirations’ which the founder of the group was Cissy Houston – Whitney Houston’s Mom. This is why I still have a love affair with vinyls, I love reading the stories on and inside the covers – they are like a book.

How to Hire an Organizer

When you first decide to work with a Professional Organizer, you need to do some work to find a PO that is a good fit for you and your style. Consider these Pointers:

  1. Be specific about your wish list – are you looking for one or two zones in your home or office to get organized? Do you want to start with a certain area of the home? Do you want to have the whole home organized or just the areas that are bothersome at the moment?
  2. Budget Accordingly – expect to pay anywhere from $36 to $90 an hour depending on your location. As you can see it is an investment in your life . . . but well worth it in the end.
  3. Decide how you want to be involved? – Do you want the PO to simply come in and come up with a plan to execute or would you like the PO to coach you throughout your organizing journey?
  4. Consider your daily schedule – Working with a PO takes approximately 4-5 hour sessions at a time, making sure you have the time to work with the PO is crucial in getting your home organized. It takes a commitment not only from the PO to get your home in an efficient and functional position – but a commitment from you!
  5. Prepare for “Homework” – Small tasks to road-test the techniques put in place is important. You or your PO does not want you wasting your time and money on an organizational system that is not working for you or your family lifestyle.
  6. Consultation – The consultation is where you want to have answers for the questions above – it will streamline the organizational process that is needed for your space. The consultation is where your PO will want to build a rapport with you to see if she/he is the best fit for your style and personality. I always ask my prospective clients NOT to go through the home and try to organize before I show up, I need to get a truthful, honest look at the home – to see what is working and what is not working.
