What is the difference between House cleaning & Detail cleaning?

The Cleaning Chick…….

I have had this question asked a few times in the last couple months, so I thought I would answer it today. Back in the day – when I cleaned for a living…..a real living! It was one of those things where a hobby turns into a means to pay the bills, I know I know a hobby of cleaning – and I like to iron! Put me away…..

I cleaned homes of 3,000 to 5,000+ square footage – Needless to say I had a lot of cleaning on my hands and it had to be strategically planned out or I would not make money. Once I started cleaning the house a few times – 4 or 5 cleanings, I would come up with a list of regular cleaning to be done – then on the side I came up with a more detailed cleaning checklist for all areas of the house – the detail cleaning list is a list of items you are going to give extra attention to on your detailed-cleaning days.

I hope the list below helps, if you have a different way of cleaning your home or your own lists and checklist to share, please do –  I would love to hear about them!

Thinking Spring!

I am thinking of Spring on this very cold grey day. In just 18 days we will be able to enjoy the best Old Vine Zin on the wine trail, with music outside under the tent overlooking over this beautiful pond – alright, I am waking up now from my daydream!

In the Quiet of the Morning…….

Good Morning Connecticut~

Please – Everyone, take it easy today shoveling out of this lovely snow~

1. Take plenty of breaks – it’s not going anywhere!

2. If you have a child old enough to shovel – we should not find you out there!

3. Dress Appropriately – layering is the best, although my husband has been known to shovel in shorts & winter coat!

4. Stay Hydrated – Take a bottle of water or Wine (just kidding) that’s for after!

5. Watch for Slippery Areas – canvass before collide!

6. Remove Icicles from Your Home – when falling they could cause injuries, they can also be used for the wine (just kidding) again this happens after your work is done!

On a serious note: Please be extra careful when shoveling your driveways, sidewalks, etc!
