Clean It Up! Being Productive in The Office Starts With Cleaning and Organization

Okay, you can’t hire a Terry Tate to bring up productivity in your office, but you can hire a Cleaning & Organizing Service to bring efficiency and purpose to each area of your business.

What’s your biggest obstacle to productivity at work? For some people it’s the constant dings of smart phone notifications and emails; for others it’s distracting interruptions from co-workers. But for a lot of employees, the one thing that stands in the way of efficiency is simply not being able quickly find what they need to complete a task.

Being disorganized costs you time and money, people can spend hours looking for things in their office and on their computer, that they could be spending on work that’s making money for the business. Here are 10 Productivity Tips you can use at your office:

Don’t Worry . . . Be Connected!

Wednesday-Quotes

Many women today constantly worry and ask themselves, “Are my career and children in conflict with one another?” Women now dominate the workplace, and at the same time they want their children to thrive. That tension creates guilt and lack of faith. Women wonder, “Is my success at work disrupting my children’s development?”

The key to overcoming this worry and fear is to stop multitasking – it doesn’t work, and to be present in the moment. In other words, when you’re with your children, really be with them. Make it quality time and connect at a deeper level. As a former teacher one pet-peeve that would upset me is when a child waited all day to see their parent and the parent shows up to pick up the child with a phone on the ear – not connecting with their “eager-to-see and love-you- child” .

Turn off the cell phone, computer and television so that you can devote all your attention to your children. Read to your child, go on great adventures together – even if that’s just consist of a trip through the backyard, and always tell them how much you love them. Do whatever you can to build memories with them.

If you’re going away on a business trip:

  • make a calendar
  • for the two weeks leading up to the trip
  • mark off the days together

This will help young children understand how days begin and end so that your time away won’t seem so long. Older children will experience less anxiety while you’re away because they’ll have had adequate preparation for the deployment. Then, while you’re away, set a time each day to do video conference calls (https://www.skype.com) with your children.

If you don’t travel but must work long hours, having a daily video conference with your children is a great way to build connection during the day. Ultimately, the more love and connection children feel, the less worry and fear you will have about impeding your children’s development.

You Are Blessed . . .

teamwork quotes 1

Trust me when I tell you . . . I have all kinds of scrapes – bumps – cuts because of my failures.

But, I get up to heal the wound but leave the scar. The scar stays as a reminder of when I get to where I am supposed to be, how hard I fought to get there.

And . . . when I’m there I can sit back check out all the scrapes – scratches and say to myself “Suck it buttercup you have work to do to pay it forward” with Positivity.

I want my stories to be of my healing not my wounds.

           Falling is never your struggle

7 Ways to be more mindful at work

Illustration of woman balancing work and life

You don’t need to block out 30 minutes of meditation, or grab your yoga mat in order to experience the benefits of mindfulness at work. First you can setup a few personal habits in the morning to get the most out of your work day – in terms of productivity and reduced stress. Here are a few ways to help you stay in the present moment to do your best during a busy week at work.

Here are 7 ways to be Mindful at work:

  1. Set your goals for the week – at the beginning of the work week, especially if its going to be a busy week. I set intentions (goals), I write them down on index cards to carry with me – ‘my intentions of the week may be to Stay Calm * Stay Present * Stay Focused.
  2. Do one thing  – Focus your attention on one task at a time. Slow down your thoughts and movements until you come back to your singular focus. At times we try to multi task with our time only to find out at the end of the week we have accomplished NOTHING. One, multi tasking does not work – it only has you running around trying to finish various projects, instead of focusing on the one project through completion and then moving on to the next.
  3. Take pleasure in your work – Have a laugh with a coworker, take a glance out the window and admire nature, sit back and appreciate yourself on all your work project completions, find something to be thankful for in having your job – there is always something to be grateful for.
  4. Give others your full attention – Stop what you are doing at the moment, really listen and pay attention to your coworker when they are talking. You need to take those few moments to really connect with coworkers that are asking for your attention – it will make them feel good and in turn it will make you feel good about yourself.
  5. Use your breaks to be in tune with your body – Do some stretches – Take short walks – Take some deep breathe – Do some yoga poses at your desk – Listen to inspirational music.
  6. Put reminder stickers around your workplace – Put some post it notes around your workplace as reminders – I put them on my computer, phone, and desk. Every time I see the stickers it reminds me to Pause * Bring me back to my Task Focus * Press forward to task completion.
  7. At the end of the day – don’t lose your mindfulness – Focus on your breathing, congratulate yourself for your mindful attitude at work today. More importantly set your intention to leave your work at the office. Carry your mindful attitude home to enjoy your time with family and friends.

Burt was always hungry

How hungry are you?

Do you ever put off your dreams? Do you tell yourself it’s not the right time or moment, you always saying next month, next year. If you want to stay hungry – you have got to fight to keep your dream alive. If left unfulfilled and not nourished that hungerthat desire – that passion will fade over time. Keep Your Dream Alive ~ Its your Time!

Here are 5 ways I keep in the fight of Living My Own Dream:

  1. Write down your dreams. I personally reread them to myself after writing them down so I can hear my own voice speaking the words – this way when someone speaks those same words to me the first time I will not be surprised or shocked I heard them before. I lived this moment before in my mind.
  2. Spend just 5 minutes a day on it. I commit to small actions daily – at times my actions are microscopic (a speck but its a speck that was not there previously), you’ll find yourself pushing harder to make time for your dream.
  3. You must give up something so you can spend time with your dream. Here’s a powerful formula to use when you NEED to make time for your dream – “I wish I could, but I really have to __________________________.” There is not a plethora of items that would take presence over your dream – this is a tool that has helped me to be disciplined with my time.
  4. Have your friends and family support you and keep you focused. At times its challenging to keep yourself motivated. I have support with my online group of like-minded dreamers, networking groups that offer feedback and suggestions. My husband and I communicate daily about my progress, I appreciate his feedback and great advice. Their support helps keep me motivated toward living my dream.
  5. Visualize yourself living it. I personally have used visualization since 1995. I visualize each of my steps toward my dream. I imagine how moments are going to feel, my thoughts at the moment, my personality at the moment I even visualize what I am wearing. This process slowly changes me, over the years I have become more assertive. When a situation comes up – in my mind I have already lived it, I just now need to enjoy the moment with confidence not fear. Stay hungry!
