How To Eat “Christmas Crack” . . . All by yourself – People Will Steal It!

Chocolate Toffee Crack-- my favorite!! So addicting.

Chocolate Toffee “Crack”

“Christmas Crack” SHHHhhhh . . .

Chocolate Toffee “Crack” (The BEST dessert idea for a party!)

A.K.A. “Christmas Crack”. This quick and easy recipe is a classic that never gets old. Just as the name implies, it’s absolutely addicting! I make it every year for holiday parties and it’s always a hit. It’s made with just 4 ingredients! Then top it with the candy of your choice to fit the season or occasion (M&Ms, candy corn, toffee bits, peppermint, nuts, sprinkles, candy eyes, etc.)

Servings 10

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve Ritz Crackers (about 16 crackers) (I use the square Town House Crackers – only because they fit better in my pan!)
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • candy of choice for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees and line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Cover the bottom of the pan with Ritz crackers. It doesn’t have to be pretty! Just fit them in there in a single layer as best you can.
  3. Combine the brown sugar and butter in a pan and bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes WITHOUT stirring.
  4. Immediately pour the mixture over the Ritz crackers in your pan. Use a spatula to spread it out evenly over the crackers. Bake for 5 minutes to thicken and set the caramel.
  5. Remove from the oven, and then sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top. Place the pan back in the oven for about 2 minutes or until he chocolate is soft enough to spread.
  6. Immediately spread the melted chocolate chips with a spatula so that you have a nice even layer.
  7. Top with the candy of your choice (optional). My favorite is crushed peppermint candy! You can also try topping it with M&Ms, nuts, sprinkles, etc.
  8. Let it cool for several hours before removing it from the pan and breaking it apart, otherwise it’s a bit of a mess! I couldn’t wait to dig in this time and the chocolate was still runny. Feel free to place it in the fridge for a bit if you need to speed up the process.

How To Add Luxury To The Basis . . .

I get some great ideas from Denise – recreate it – Make it my own!

I’m not here to reinvent the wheel . . . Just repurpose it! ~ Me

I like how Denise takes basic products from say the Dollar store or Walmart and turns them into Luxury! We all can do this, I challenge you to find a simple product from the Dollar General, or Walmart, or Target, or wherever you shop – take a picture of it – then, turn it into a creation of Luxurious Charm and Beauty – post the finalize product. Then, pay it forward – give it to someone that would greatly appreciate some real Beauty in their life this Holiday Season.

Enjoy . . . Her DIYs are very simple – can be done in an afternoon.

How’s Your Week Going So Far?

You are almost there . . . to the end of your week!

Take today as one-of-those-days, you try to finalize some projects, plans, reports or anything that has a deadline attached to it . . . Reminder next week is going to be a short work week.

If possible,  “don’t leave anything on the desk” – rid your desk of all the unfinished business of the week. Actually, on Friday – clear off your desk, then clean it, and finally  dust it along with all your knick-knacks around the office. You want to be able to enjoy your time with family and friends over the Thanksgiving Holiday, while having a Peace of Mind that you took care of everything . . . no strings untied.

Some music while you’re getting all your projects done – Enjoy!

8 Ways to Prepare for Holiday House guests

preparing a guest room 7How to Prepare the Guest Room

If you will be hosting people in your home over the holidays, the first thing you want to focus on is making their bedroom as comfortable as possible. This is the space that your guests are going to make themselves at home, so it’s important to make it cozy and welcoming.

Here are a few things to help make the room inviting:

  • Outfit the bed with comfortable sheets, blankets, and pillows – and if possible, don’t use old, worn bedding from years gone by. Just like you enjoy quality bedding in a hotel, plan to provide that for your guests, too. You may want to invest in a set of Egyptian cotton sheets for your guest room, and provide 2 pillows per guest (I’d suggest one fiberfill and one feather-filled.) Cover the bed with a medium weight blanket or comforter, and store extra blankets in the closet for those chilly nights.

  • Bedside lamps are a must. If your guest is a late-night reader, providing soft lamp lighting is much nicer than one bright overhead light in the room.

  • Post your WiFi network name and password in the guest room. In this tech-y day and age, your guests will most definitely want to tap in to your WiFi on their phones, computers, and tablets, so make it as easy as possible for them to do so.

  • A welcome basket of treats, snacks, and small toiletry items is a lovely way to say “We’re So Glad You’re Here!” I save all the small toiletry items from my hotel visits and bring them home to share with my own guests.

  • Fresh flowers add a beautiful touch to any room. Even a single flower in a small vase adds can add a dash of freshness, and this little touch will not go unnoticed.

  • Provide extra hangers in the closet and ample space to hang clothing. If there’s not enough room for a suitcase, an extra chair, ottoman, or suitcase rack solves that problem.

  • Place a few bottles of water on the nightstand, so your guests don’t have to venture to the kitchen at night.

  • Add a nightlight in the hallway and near the guest bathroom to help make a middle-of-the-night restroom visit less treacherous.
