Health-Benefits-Of-A-Clean-Home-Maid-Sailors-Cleaning-Service

The question remains: do fit people have more energy to clean their homes or are they disciplined in terms of their fitness and household cleanliness or do they simply call in help? Regardless, keeping a clean home has its benefits – a potentially fit body being just one of them.

How Colors Affect Us

  • Color is one of the languages of the soul, just look at inspirational or meditative paintings.
  • They influence our mood and emotions (how do you feel while sitting in a black room?)
  • They have an impact on our sense of well-being or uneasiness.
  • Using and avoiding certain colors is a way of self-expression (it sheds light on our personality).
  • Colors affect our way of perception (light colors make space look big, a high ceiling looks less high when painted in a dark color, etc.)
  • Colors have a symbolic meaning which is immediately recognized by our subconsciousness. (It must be said that not all colors mean the same to all persons and all cultures).
  • They influence the flow and amount of energy in our bodies.
  • Colors tell something about biological attraction and sexual availability.

It has been known for years that color plays a major role in setting up a particular mood or state of mind. Color does affect one’s feelings, moods, and emotions.

Lastly, let me say how much I love using the VISUALIZER on the Sherwin-Williams website. The design software lets you view the rooms in daytime & nighttime. In the past, I have used color therapy on the walls in my space and did not like the finished project in the night time hours!!!!

Peace Harmony & Happy Coloring!

Meal Planning To Save Money

Looking through my mother’s cookbooks the other day, I was reminded of my mom teaching my brother and I how to create a weekly meal plan when we were younger. She worked full-time outside the home, so she put our ass to work whenever she could to help out around the house. . . . we survived! You can download a meal planner and grocery list below. A meal planner and a shopping list are the best ways to save money when planning meals for your family – big or small.

I inherited a few of my mom’s cookbooks – I like looking through them to see her notes, I miss her handwriting. I was going through her Emeril Lagasse’s cookbook and it brought up memories of her and I watching his first-of-it’s-kind cooking show “BAM” – “Kickin this up a notch” and a few  of his other sayings, along with Emeril’s storytelling and let’s not forget the LIVE band which made it an awesome show. I have such wonderful memories of Ms. Bev (my mom) and myself hanging out – laughing and telling stories in the kitchen.

***Enjoy the recipes – my mother made both of these delicious dishes***

Do you have stories of cooking with your mom?

Wellness at workA Shift in the Focus of Wellness Programs

For many of us, a quarter to a third of our lives will be spent in the workplace.

On a daily basis, we will spend more waking hours in our workplace than at home, and experience more exchanges with team members than family members.

When corporate wellness programs first took off, the focus was primarily on smoking cessation or weight loss goals. Current wellness programs have come a long way since then – now, program offerings have expanded to focus on more than just the physical aspect of health. Employers are now using corporate wellness programs to increase employee engagement and to become more mindful of mental health at work. Companies are doing this by combining more traditional well-being efforts with career coaching development programs.

Keeping Wellness Simple

This year, more workplace wellness programs will be switching to a “less is more” approach. One possible reason for employers not seeing the participation levels they want in their wellness programs is because the program is too confusing. Employees desire simple, uncomplicated wellness tasks and objectives – most likely because they already have enough on their plates. The last thing employers want to do is stress out employees even more by asking them to complete complicated tasks.

Workplace wellness programs can be simplified by focusing on five key factors that contribute to a successful wellness program:

  • Accessibility
  • Communication
  • health assessments
  • Screenings
  • Health education

By keeping employee wellness simple, employers can expect higher participation rates and less confusion surrounding wellness initiatives.
